$2.85 Million Donated to Area Nonprofits To-Date!

The mission of the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation, a not-for-profit Nevada corporation, is to conduct a PGA TOUR sanctioned professional golf tournament that will:

  1. Contribute positively to the quality of life in our community
  2. Provide growing annual financial contributions to charity
  3. Promote volunteerism
  4. Provide a positive economic impact to the community

The Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization recognized under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It was established in 1999 for the purpose of generating funds to operate the Barracuda Championship an official PGA TOUR event at Montrêux Golf & Country Club in Reno, NV. After the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation reaches its operational goals the RTO Foundation supports other qualified Northern Nevada Charitable organizations (read more). Contributions to the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation, Inc. are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Foundation Overview

The Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation has been able to grow its charitable giving to a total of $2.85 million since its inception in 1999.  Calculations of charitable giving in 2013 totaled over $350,000 alone. The Foundation intention is to give back even more  to local nonprofits and the Washoe County School District through its two donation programs, U.S. Bank's Chip in For Schools and the Charity Challenge, based on a birdie-counting pledge system.

Continuing our promise to Salute the Troops, the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation was also proud to bring back the variety of military activities that occur on-site at the Reno-Tahoe Open. In 2014, we look forward to partnering with incredible programs such as the Veterans Guest House.
