Operations Intern
START DATE: April 09, 2012

Primary Responsibilities:
• Work with Operations Manager and gain experience in set-up and production of the Reno-Tahoe Open. Build, maintain, and tear down facilities for event. Manual labor required.
• Work directly with various tournament vendors and volunteer committees on coordination of the tournament and daily operations
• Offers broad exposure to event management and involves projects requiring decision making, problem solving and teamwork
• Responsible for coordinating golf carts, communication equipment and volunteer supplies.
• Interfacing and managing volunteers and vendors, working with the staff, inventory management and other projects as needed
• Other duties as deemed necessary

Marketing Intern
START DATE: April 09, 2012
END DATE: August 05, 2012
Primary Responsibilities:
• Work with Marketing Manager and gain experience in acting as the in-house marketing arm of a PGA TOUR special event;
• Work directly with tournament vendors and committees on coordination of the tournament and daily marketing and public relations activities;
• Provide input into advertising and public relations activities;
• Provide day-to-day support to assist in Marketing Manager responsibilities;
• Skilled at decision making, problem solving and teamwork;
• Excellent writing and editing skills are a must;
• Must be available all day including evening hours during the week of July 30-August 05, 2012
• Other duties as deemed necessary.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale);
• Bachelor’s Degree or working towards a degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Event Planning or other related field;
• Excellent organizational, time and project management skills; individual must be detail-oriented and a self-starter who follows through on tasks as they are assigned;
• Ability to work under pressure and with sometimes tight deadlines;
• Interest in golf and pursuing a career as an in-house marketing professional or event planner is a plus but not a requirement;
• Basic graphic design skills are desirable.
Applicant is responsible for own food and lodging during internship and transportation to and from Montreux Golf & Country Club. Must have own laptop computer for use throughout internship or be comfortable working with Mac computers.
