Chip in For Schools

The Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation implemented a new charity program in 2010 called Chip in For Schools.  Through this wonderful program, schools and school programs were able to utilize the Reno-Tahoe Open, the area’s only PGA TOUR event, to fundraise and keep 100% of the proceeds!  Here is how the program works:

1.)    A school or school program registers to be a part of this fundraising program by contacting Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation Charities Committee Chair Tina Ford at Tina@RenoTahoeOpen.com.  You may also call the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation Charities Office at 775.853.6809 and ask to speak with Tina.

2.)    The school program is then asked its fundraising goals and how many tickets to the Reno-Tahoe Open it believes it can sell at the reduced rate of $15 per Good Any Day general admission ticket.  The school program is then provided these tickets that they can then use to sell and fundraise, keeping 100% of the proceeds!

3.)    The program ended in early July 2010, just prior to the start of the Reno-Tahoe Open (July 12 – July 18, 2010). Stay tuned for how your school or school program can become involved for the 2011 Chip in For Schools fundraising program.

We at the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation are so excited about this program because everybody wins – the children earn much-needed funds for their school programs, the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation is able to give back to local programs and increase attendance, and you win by being able to purchase reduced price tickets to this PGA TOUR event while helping local school children.
